Broadband
What are my internet options?
BT, Sky, Plusnet, and many more internet providers are available for Renaissance residents. Unfortunately, BT and other providers that use BT’s infrastructure do not yet support fibre speeds to properties in the development unless you live in Roma Corte. If you do not have access to fibre speeds then BT can supply up to 17mbps connections, which is enough for average internet usage but won’t be enough to stream HD or 4K content from Netflix and other services reliably. If you need a higher connection speed, Hyperoptic and Virgin both services all the apartments across the Renaissance. Prices vary depending on promotions, and you can go all the way up to a 1gbps connection. Hyperoptic doesn’t limit upload speeds, so it’s your only option if you need a connection to download and upload at high speeds, or you’re looking to stream a lot of content regularly. Unlike BT, Hyperoptic and Virgin uses their own cables so engineers will need to drill a separate hole into your property. If you rent, you’ll need to get permission from your landlord, and the basic install only covers installing to the nearest power outlet (typically in your hallway). You’ll need to pay extra to get the cable installed into another room. As Hyperoptic uses its own cabling, you’re not forced to pay a line rental charge for a landline phone you might never use. If you’re interested in Hyperoptic then try to find a resident or friend who will refer you, both my receive a customer credit. www.hyperoptic.com www.virginmedia.com www.uswitch.com/broadband *From time to time this information may be out of date so its always best to check with all providers directly. |
